ClaimsPeople is a brand of National Accident Law, and is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

When you contact us, one of our personal injury advisors will listen sympathetically to you and take the details of your accident. Where the advisor feels you would benefit from legal advice and your claim merits further investigation, we will offer to put you in touch with a specialist solicitor without delay. We won't charge you anything for doing this. We won't ask you to take out any loan, sign anything, or enter into any contract.

If we are able to take your claim forward it will either be handled by our own law firm  - National Accident Law - or by one of our specialist partner law firms,  depending on the type of claim.

You should receive impartial and confidential advice from any solicitors we refer you.. Solicitors should always act in your best interest, this is a requirement of their professional body. National Accident Law solicitors are required to comply with the Solicitors code of Conduct (2011).

National Accident Law is not in any way responsible for the advice given or other work undertaken on your behalf by these solicitors firms. Your solicitor firm will give you their independent advice about the use of legal expenses insurance and any medico-legal reporting agency. Solicitor firms pay ClaimsPeople for marketing, call handling and other services. This does not affect the value of your claim in any way. If you are close to the time limit for making a claim, do not wait, contact the solicitor firm immediately.

If we feel we cannot help you, we will let you know, and of course you are free to seek advice elsewhere.

However If you'd like to pursue a claim at a later date, you'll need to issue Court proceedings within the given time limits. If you don't issue your claim within those time limits, you won't usually be able to proceed. This is called being ‘time-barred'. Extensions to the time limits are only available in exceptional circumstances and you should check these with another law firm.

The limitations:

• In most circumstances for adults who were 18 years old or over at the time, it's essential that proceedings are issued within three years of the accident or incident date. However, there are some important exceptions to this rule and in some cases the time limits are shorter.
• In cases where the injured person was under 18 years of age when the accident or incident occurred, the three-year period usually expires on their 21st birthday.
• We recommend that if you still wish to pursue your claim then you should seek the opinion of another law firm.
